I'm Pat Ackerman, a basketball player/coach turned graphic designer. Basketball was a part of my life from a young age and I was fortunate enough to be able to continue playing through college. Following graduation, I wanted to remain around the game I loved and started coaching. In five years, I worked with the basketball programs at Bridgewater College in Virginia, University of Nevada, and University of Arkansas.
Out of necessity, I learned a lot of graphic design while I was coaching. Having to make a lot of personal graphics for recruits and content to promote the team, I grew to enjoy it. In 2021, I decided to leave coaching, and became the Associate Director of Communications at University of Detroit Jesuit. In the spring of 2023, I left U of D Jesuit to pursue a full-time freelance career and started Ack's Shack.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and our dogs, fishing, and watching the Red Sox, Celtics, and Broncos.
